Initial
assessment At your first appointment your physio will ask you many questions
and gather alot of information about your condition. It is important that you
let your physio guide you through this process, and you can rest assured that
they will collect all the information necessary to make a thorough and complete
diagnosis of your condition.
After
your physio has asked about your condition, she will perform measurements and
some tests, as well as feel the specific parts of the body that are causing the
problem. This forms the objective part of the evaluation.
Your
physiotherapist will then be able to explain your condition using terms that you
will understand, and the best plan of treatment. With your consent, she will
go ahead and begin treatment.
The
first session takes 1 hour.
Other
things X-rays - Bring any recent/relevant x-ray or scans you may have
Wear - Loose fitting and comfortable clothing (remember, we need to be able to
see and touch the body part we are treating!) Shorts - Ladies please bring
a pair of shorts rather than wear a skirt for the physical assessment
